I'm allergic to wool, so this is a great substitute. I really love the way the yarn drapes and has a weight to it. Plus I wanted to knit something that wouldn't be too warm in the Fall or Spring and this material is perfect for it. You'll see from the picture that I'm still working ont this sweater but that it displays great deifinition.

It feels like 90% cotton

I was hoping the 40% microfiber would give it a bit more give and plushness or a brushed cotton feel. But it just feels like cotton yarn. It's not a bad yarn, but...Read complete review

I was disappointed that one skein had several knots in it. The other ones were fine. I used it for baby outfit and it is just so soft and its definition was great

    Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:

This is easily one of the best cotton yarns I have knit with. It is soft, drapey and comfortable to knit (many cottons hurt my hands because there is no "give" - not the case at all with Longmeadow)

This is great yarn. I made a lacy pullover for my daughter. It knit easily and the finished sweater was soft & wearable. I plan to use this yarn again.

        Comments about Valley Yarns Longmeadow:

I used this for a shell. The fabric is light for a cotton so it doesn't weigh itself down. It looks great knitted up, but it splits easily and I had to be really careful. There were several occasions I had to fix split stitches and that took some time. Overall, though, I love the feeling and the weight of the yarn, and I would definitely use it again!

Worked great for the fingerless gloves I picked it out for. No complaints. Has handled a couple mistakes and drops fine. Happy with the yarn. Like the look and feel.

Yarn arrived in great shape. Took about a week to get here

Lots of lovely colours, nice finished weight. Versatile yarn. Very easy to work with. Splits a bit when moving quickly, and mistakes do show. I used it for a little girl's dress, but I'd definitely buy it again for a sweater or dress for myself.

I am making a light summer sweater for travelling. It does unravel quite easily so I had to watch not to split the yarn. The sweater looks a little more "rustic" than I had hoped, but I still like it
