This weight works well for mid-range sweater.. not light weight but not heavy fall/winter either. When some colors went on sale I grabbed more yarn for future projects. I will definitely be using it again.

Comments about Valley Yarns Northfield:
This yarn (in charcoal) was selected specifically to knit the ChicKnits Hey Girl cardigan. It is producing excellent results in this application. I appreciate the slightly tighter twist, and a soft, squishy texture. It is easy on the hands. Good stitch definition, but also has visual interest with longer fibers here and there, and a slight halo (unwashed as of yet). Very easy to work with and a great yarn for sweaters. A beautiful yarn to select for larger projects. I would buy this yarn again.

Comments about Valley Yarns Northfield:
I made gauge swatches for two different sweaters.
Like them both, could replicate the pattern gauge well.
Stitch definition was great for the Durwich sweater and for German herringbone stitch.
Good quality lovely soft yarn.
I am not crazy about the colors and am thinking about it still. It is a commitment to knit a patterned sweater for me. I have to love it before I start.

I had bought several skeins at the store, but ran out before I finished my project. I requested a specific dye lot and was delighted to receive the perfect match.
