Comments about Rowan Kid Classic:
Just received 20 skeins of Nightly color I will knit for a sweater jacket. This is a great color! Midnight blue/ dark violet. Exactly what I wanted though pic doesn't do it justice. Knits up a bit lighter than worsted, needed size 7 straights to get gauge on a pattern that calls for 8's which is strange b/c it's a Rowan pattern! I usually knit right on pattern needles size. . , Anyway, the texture is perfect for a sweater jacket. Only 4 of 5 stars because haven't knit project yet.

Comments about Rowan Kid Classic:
Just a warning. It is a yarn , because of the mohair content, to be worn with something underneath. I made two sweater dresses, a pattern featured by Rowan. They turned out great, but featured with a blouse underneath. Loved the look of the yarn.

Comments about Rowan Kid Classic:
This line offers a great range of colors so I was considering knitting a Fair Isle sweater coat with it. But I just don't like the yarn that much -- the mohair content is slightly irritating to my skin (I'm not allergic, but I do admit I have very sensitive skin.) Also the colors are VERY earthy, more so than shown on color chips. HOWEVER the mohair content would DEFINITELY make this a great yarn for outerwear -- hats, scarves & gloves/mittens for a cold winter season. You'd get very warm garments without a lot of bulk. There are SO MANY Rowan yarns I like better than Kid Classic, even LOVE -- for example, Kidsilk Haze, which is miraculously beautiful in my opinion and justifiably one of the great perennial classics of the industry. PLUS Rowan now makes a coordinating Kidsilk Haze ruffle yarn that's amazing for trimming (I wish they made it in every Kidsilk Haze colorway!)

Comments about Rowan Kid Classic:
I found that the finished garment stretched and had to undo it to the armholes, then remove a few rows. It fits perfectly now and is quite comfortable.

Comments about Rowan Kid Classic:
My first sweater 10 years ago is of Kid Classic, and it has worn unbelievably well. Barely pilled (even under the arms!), held it's shape despite rough treatment. Rowan #28 has a ton of patterns as does A Season's Tale (I think).
