Louet Euroflax Sport

Louet Euroflax Sport is a long line linen made out of flax-fiber. The yarn is double-boiled and steamed to give it a very soft and exceptional quality. Louet Euroflax Sport is great for home decor projects, but also fantastic for garments. Made in Belgium

I have finished the most beautiful garment-a suite for myself from Euroflax sport weight in french blue using #2 needles. I have heard from several people that it is difficult to knit due to yarn does not give. I did not have any problem with the yarn, and even if I had, the end product would have worth the difficulties. I knitted the skirt from the Interweave Knits, Spring 2007. The pattern name is "Indigo Ripples Skirt". I created the matching top myself. The look is so polished and almost etherial, it creates a "Wow!" effect wherever I go. I had even stranger man complimenting on my outfit! It is good enough to go to a classy dinner or a day wedding, and the linen feels so great in a summer! I am in love with the yarn. It took 6 scanes to create my suite, but it is worth every penny!

I found the Euroflsx sport-weight yarn to be accurate in yardage and weight per skein. The quality of the current Euroflax, however, is a lot lower than in years past. There were knots (!) in one skein a bunch of slubs in all four and some areas where one ply had run out and another replacement ply seemingly casually added with quite a bit of textural interruption. If I had been judging these skeins as handspun I would have given them low marks.

This yarn was as advertized. I like the colors and texture of the linen and will work well in the market bag I'm making.

              Very different yarn

This yarn is like nothing I've used before. It has an almost 'wirelike' texture and is very slippery. I highly recommend using bamboo needles with this yarn. I tried using Addi's and had a small disaster. I'm using the Churchmouse pattern for a diagonal lace scarf and so far it looks good. The real test will come when I wash it. Machine wash and dry should fluff it out

                    Service and delivery comments:

I had purchased my first skein of this yarn during Webs anniversary sale. When I was half way through the skein I called the 800 number on the Webs website to purchase a second skein. The team member who helped me found the dye lot I needed and I received the second skein within a few days. Thanks for the excellent service!

This makes a wonderful summer weight sweater. Perfect for air conditioner here in Texas. If you haven't knit with it before don't be discouraged when you start. As you are knitting you are NOT going to get pretty stitches but when you are done throw it in the washer and the yarn plumps up and softens and you'll love it. I've even knit little hand towels from this yarn and they are a daily joy. I've been using the towels for years and the yarn has held up very well.

Euroflax Sport is my go-to summer yarn. Light, drapey, sturdy, this yarn shows off lace stitches like a champ and is the perfect wearable weight. It is a little bit stiff to work with at first, but drapes and wears amazingly well, with garments growing a bit in length after knitting. The colors are amazing, and it is easy to dye if that is your thing.

I purchased this yarn and received a free pattern for the ATX Linen Tote by Staci Perry. The next morning I noticed WEBS had this yarn on sale. I called customer service and they gave me the sale price!

I've just started knitting the ATX Linen Tote.... So far so good!
