Beautiful end product; yarn is fragile

This yarn makes beautiful colorways, but is coarse and very fragile. The yarn broke even while winding it by hand into a ball.

    Comments about Plymouth Yarn Boku:

This a a FUN yarn to work with!

We are now into our fourth afghan, each featuring multiple colors of BOKU - just gorgeous! This project has been taken on by me and my colleagues as a fundraiser for four years in a row. Each time, the afghan has turned out to look unlike any before, and equally stunning. We are rewarded with a wonderful response when the bidding happens!

As an aside, I fell in love with the unique self-striping BOKU features and chose to knit myself a skirt! "Knitting a skirt?!" my brother in-law questioned.... ABSOLUTELY!! It is one of my fun and funky go-to outfits and is fun show off!

    Comments about Plymouth Yarn Boku:

I used this in Kristin Omdahl's Infinity Wrap. It is warm but you wouldn't want this on your skin. It's coarse and is hard on your hands. It has other bits of stuff in it which makes it interesting. The long color changes are really nice - especially for this project. This was the recommended yarn. I would recommend it but with reservations.

      Boku - dull and shreddy

      • Unravels

      Best Uses

        Comments about Plymouth Yarn Boku:

I used Boku as a substitute for Noro in the 64 Crayons blanket. The colors are similar but duller. And sadly, the yarn shreds while being knit. I went back and bought a small amt. to border and bind together the strips. Some colorways are strong and clear. Others not. Would not buy again. Requires dry cleaning or hand cold washing.

this yarn is nice to work with has a nice hand. The only thing wrong with it, it has bits of hay or something all thru the yarn. It's really warm and washes up beautifully.
