Knitting Matters 913 Uplifting Scarf PDF

Knitting Matters patterns are no longer available for sale.

If you’ve never played with lifted stitches before, you’re in for a treat with this scarf.  It’s a fairly simple design – a border of seed stitch surrounding a main panel of garter and lifted stitch ribbing.  It can be done in a solid color yarn too, but this kind of stitch really allows handpainted yarns to put their best food forward.  The Flex Tips section includes instructions for making a reversible version of the scarf by working it in a tube rather than back and forth.

Finished Size: approx. 8.5” x 72” after blocking

Gauge: 18 sts and 20 rows per 4” in St st

Needles: US 7 needles, straight or circular

Yarn: 450 yds worsted or heavy worsted weight yarn.  If you want to make your scarf longer, plan on about 150 yds for every additional 24” you want to add.

Notions: 1 stitch marker, scissors, tapestry needle
