The dress that grows with her! Simply move the buttons on the straps or wear them uncrossed as she gets bigger. For even more flexibility, this dress can be made in any fiber from cotton to wool, and can be worn alone on warm days or over a t-shirt in cooler weather.

This model was done in Cotton Ball, from Claudia Hand Painted Yarns, in the colorway “Caribbean Blue”. (100% cotton) (130 yds/118 m; 1.75oz/50g)

Sizes: 6 (12, 24) months
Finished Chest: 20 (21.25, 22.75)”
Gauge: 30 sts and 32 rows per 4” (10 cm) in pattern stitch on larger needles. Do a swatch to be sure you get it right. (Gauge for the garter stitch portions on smaller needles is 27 sts per 4”)
Needles: Size 4US (3.5mm) 16” and 24” circular needles for body and size 2US (2.75mm) 16” circular needles (or sizes you need to get gauge). Your “smaller” needles should be 2 sizes smaller than your larger needle.
Yarn: 375 (450, 550) yards/343 (411, 503) meters of sport weight yarn.
Notions: tapestry needle and scissors, four 5/8” buttons, stitch markers.
