Fiber Trends AC2 Felt Hat II
Our lightweight felt hat offers a choice of three sizes and two brim variations. Made in a single strand of worsted weight, it is great for handpainted yarns.
Sizes: Child (Adult Small, Adult Large)
The exact finished size is determined by the amount of felting and the form used for blocking. This can be a head form, bowl or ball. Choose one that is just slightly larger than recipient's head measurement.
Yarn Requirements:
Wide brim version: Approx 250 (300, 340) yards worsted weight wool or wool/mohair blend
Narrow brim version: Approx 220 (260, 295) yards worsted weight wool or wool/mohair blend
Use only wool, mohair, alpaca or blends of these that will felt to a firm fabric.
Caution: To avoid disappointment always test felt a sample of your yarn before starting a project.
Needles: US 10.5 (6.50mm) 24" circular and DPNs. 16" circular in same size is optional.
Gauge: Approx 14 sts = 4" before felting.
