I am incredibly impressed with these needles. They combine the best of all worlds to me:
* They have the light weight of bamboo or wood, along with the slight 'grip' along the length of the needles that prevents needles from slipping out if you need to set your work down; this has often been an issue for me with metal needles, which tend to be heavier and are slightly more smooth along the length of the needle shaft.
* They have fine metal points. My primary issue with wood and bamboo needles, since I often work with no higher than size 3 or 4 US, is dull or dulling points. I don't have to worry about the tips wearing down after a few projects as I did with my smaller bamboo needles and replacing them repeatedly costs far more than a set of these in the long run! I'm hard on my needles, and these do not feel like I might easily break them unless I'm careful.
* I like the black. It really helps the stitches stand out without being a distraction. (Also, it's quite beautiful in person, with a subtle grain visible in it unseen in the images.) That the sizes are printed on the needle clearly, even at the very small sizes, is quite helpful, since smaller sizes aren't always available on needle sizers, and they can start blending together visually more easily than the larger sizes.

Small gap where metal joins carbon needle. Needle had excess glue sloppily applied at join and on needle. Area was also rough near join as if it had been buffed down. Tip is a small ballish shape like on a ball point pen, with a poor taper. Would not knit with these. Very disappointed with this product.

I cast on socks right away to try these out and I really like them. They are smooth and feel light and warm in your hands as you work. I want to collect more to try in other sizes to see if I still like them over time.

I bought these out of curiousity. My other half uses carbon fiber rod in his hobbies so I was aware how strong it was. I have a tendency to bend and break other DPs so wanted to see whether these would hold up...and they have so far. They are just textured enough that stitches don't slip, yet the tips are slick enough that the work glides over them. My only concern is that, since I'm a klutz, I might badly stab myself as they are really sharp and strong. I'm interested in seeing how they hold up over time.

I was getting ready to abandon a project because the size 2 needles I was using were so hard to work with. I tried the Karbonz needles and was so happy with them and my finished project. The needles are light with a wonderful feel and are a pleasure to knit with. They are strong and flexible at the same time. The points are great. I just purchased the Karbonz circular set and can't wait to try them.

I love the points, it is easy to pick up even the finest stitches. I love knitting socks and the dp's and the 16" circ. needles makes the process even more enjoyable. I like that the stitches move along the needle easily but that the needle doesn't fall out of the stitches. The joins are smooth on both the dp's and circ., I have not tried the straights yet. I am hoping that Knitters Pride will soon expand the line to larger sizes and definitely go for a set of interchangeable tips.
Comments about Knitter's Pride Karbonz Double Pointed Needles 6":
I am using these in size 0 for socks and find them to be well made. The point is sharper than most, which is important to me. The tips are well polished and the joins all flawless. I purchased several sizes, 00 - 2, and all seem to be similarly well made. I think the reviewer who got needles with gaps and ballpoints should return hers as they must have been defective. None of the several sets I bought were like that.

Hands down, these are now my favorite double pointed needles. I am using them now for a pair of socks. They feel better on my hands than metal needles, and I don't have to worry about breakage like I do with wooden needles in the small sizes. Yarn grips enough that stitches don't slide off, but still slides smoothly during knitting. The metal tips are smooth and I have no problems with how they are joined. I am definitely going to invest in more sets.

I am so thrilled with these needles. I will definitely buy more sets. I started with 00 6" dpn's which is my go-to for socks. My gauge is more consistent. They are not slippy at all so I knit faster. These needles combined with the purchase of the dpn needle tip holder have made me want to knit more socks.
