This is an update to a review I posted earlier. I've been working with this yarn for a few weeks now, haven't even finished off the first skein and have already encountered serious unraveling, pilling, and splitting. I doubt any garment will hold up long enough to be worn even once, and will be returning the remaining skeins.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Soft Spun:
I first bought a lovely deep teal to make a shawl. I liked it so much I bought some Lake Chelan (beautiful color) and then some blackwater to make a vest. This yarn is very soft and easy to knit or crochet. Occasionally, I come across a "glob" of yarn which needs cutting out, but not often. I would recommend this to a friend.
Comments about Cascade Yarns Soft Spun:
I bought this yarn in 7 different colors. I knitted a Bernat pattern from 20 years ago in lake chelan it and the color is georgeous. In the sunlight the color is so stunning that I can hardly drive for looking down at my sweater. For this sweater I will go the extra mile and have it dry cleaned since it will probably pill.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Soft Spun:
I bought this yarn in Lake Chelan & Granny Smith, both colors are vivid and beautiful. It's also very soft and the yarn itself is light & fluffy. It was a delight to work with. It does come apart if you pull to tightly when seaming but that's normal with yarns of this variety.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Soft Spun:
I find this yarn to be very similar to Malabrigo Merino Worsted in texture and feel. It's a little lighter, but Softspun does knit up almost identically to the Malabrigo yarn and has the same halo-effect. On the more negative side, Softspun also splits and pills just as easily as Malabrigo.
Softspun is very soft and knits up well, but I don't think I'd use it again unless it remains on close-out sale.

- Lovely colors to choose
- Repels water
- soft to the touch
- Very warm in CNY winters
- Washes very well
- Wonderful to knit with

Merchant response: We love this yarn too! Unfortunately, Soft Spun has been discontinued by Cascade and it won't be produced anymore.
