Cascade Yarns Soft Spun
Cascade Soft Spun is a single ply 100% Peruvian highland wool. It works up at a worsted weight and is perfect for garments, accessories, and more. It would be great for outerwear! Made in Peru.
Note: As with many single ply yarns, be cautious when seaming with Soft Spun as the yarn can come apart when pulled too tightly.

I knit and felt hats and occasionally need a little inspiration to get me started. Just opening up the box of this yarn was like a shot in the arm. The colors beg to be mixed. I usually use a single or double strand of Cascade 220 and the hats are great, but the single strand is a little light and the doulbe is a little heavy duty, but with a single Cascade Soft Spun they come out "just right." I just love the soft color palette.

This is an update to a review I posted earlier. I've been working with this yarn for a few weeks now, haven't even finished off the first skein and have already encountered serious unraveling, pilling, and splitting. I doubt any garment will hold up long enough to be worn even once, and will be returning the remaining skeins.

I'm using this yarn to make a lap blanket. It is soft and light. Because it is mostly unspun I don't know that it would hold up well in an item that gets lots of abuse (socks, mittens, hard-use sweater). I also don't know yet if it pills much.

only one thing that did not make this yarn perfect was that because it is single ply it can tear while knitting - didn't happen much though. I knew before I purchased the yarn, however.

I use this yarn for heavy felted mittens and slipper/boots. Because it's single ply it felts very well. Because it's single ply if you have a lot of weaving in of ends, they can get a little thin - have to be careful with it.

I'm a beginner and am making a sweater and can't wait to finish it. Even though it's been unraveled a dozen times already, it is holding up well. There is some pilling throughout skein but it doesn't seem to be a problem w/finished product. Just don't pull too hard as it is easy to break.

I used this yarn in the color Russette to make a waterfall scarf. As soon as I opened the package the color of the yarn was so breathtaking and the yarn was soft. I couldn't wait to use it. The finished project is amazing and I get so many complements on my scarf. I give this yarn a 5 star; I found nothing wrong with this yarn.

This yarn is lovely, soft, and not scratchy. It knits up very well and I'm very pleased with it. I purchased the cobalt heather and the color is just beautiful...vibrant and a bit heathery, which I love.
