Jazerant Beanie and Cowl Set

Looking to jazz up your winter wardrobe? Want to make a quick and luxurious holiday gift for a special someone? A basic beanie and cowl are adorned with cables and beaded accents so you can practice new skills in a familiar format. In this class, students will learn simple cabling and beading techniques from designer Emma Welford, whose work you have seen in many Valley Yarns patterns as well as on Ravelry and in several national craft publications. Charts will be used for the cable pattern.

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm, last class 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Materials Required: 

  • The pattern for this class is included in the price of the class and will be supplied by the instructor  
  • Valley Yarns Northfield 4 skeins  
  • US 5 and 6 16" circular needles or size to get your gauge of 22s/4" in stitch pattern
  • US 6 24" circular needle or size to get your gauge of 22 st/4" in stitch pattern
  • 44 size 6 beads (buy a few extra, just in case...)
  • #9 steel crochet hook to add the beads  
  • Cable needle  
  • Tapestry needle  
  • Your knitting tool kit

HOMEWORK: 
Prior to the first class, with your project yarn, make a 4"X4" gauge swatch in the stitch pattern and bring to class.  The stitch pattern for the gauge swatch is: *k2, p2, k1, p2; rep from * as many times as needed to make a 4" x 4" swatch.
