Shawlettes are a popular item to knit during the summer, and are great for wearing to keep the air conditioning off of sun-warmed shoulders. This partial lace project is a great way to learn simple lace and short row techniques while working from either charted or text directions. Skill Level: Advanced Beginner Instructor: Liz Sorenson Date: Mondays, 6/3, 6/10, 6/17 Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm Materials Required:
• Zen Yarn Garden Short and Sweet Shawl pattern
• One skein lighter colored fingering weight yarn. (Lace stitches are hard to see when you're knitting in dark colors.)
We will not be using doubled yarn as in the pattern, so ~ 340 yards total is the minimum for the pattern and most fingering weight yarns are over 400 per skein. Choose one you love! [If anyone prefers, buying an equal yardage in DK yarn will create a heavier shawlette. The pattern is written to use 2 strands of fingering weight, which equals DK.]
