1 skein fingering weight yarn or at least 450 yards for sample squares and swatches. We recommend Valley Yarns Charlemont
US size 3 and 4 (3.25-3.50mm) needles OR SIZE TO GET GAUGE OF 6 sts and 8 rows = 1" in stockinette stitch. NOTE: We strongly recommend metal, straight needles for this class. We find that metal needles make the fiber content of Charlemont easiest to work with and the uniform diameter of straight needles helps avoid any difficulty in sliding tight stitches around.
