Knitting Classes
Eek! Steeks!
Steeking is a technique used to knit tubes, without interruption, for openings or sleeves. Once finished, the knitted tube is cut in the places where you would like to make an opening or attach another piece! This technique allows you to knit uninterrupted stitch patterns, eliminates purling, and there is no seaming. In this class, we will explore the usefulness of steeks in sweater construction for sleeves, necklines, cardigans, hoods and button bands as well as in shawls and shrugs. So bring your scissors and we’ll practice cutting your knitting, together!
