Knitting Classes
Knitting I
This class was created for those who have never knit before. First-time knitters will learn a variety of basic techniques: the long-tail cast-on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off. Other topics covered include yarn weights and corresponding needle sizes, the importance of the ball band, and fixing mistakes. The most important topic covered, however, is gauge…what it is, and how to make a gauge swatch. The Knitting I Handbook, which is included in the tuition, will guide you through the course and serve as a reference during the class and after. In addition, you will receive a skein of yarn and a set of needles to get you started.
