Amy is a self taught knitter and self taught maker of all sorts of things. Amy’s mother taught her to crochet when she was little but the craft didn’t really “take”, unless you consider being able to crochet a triangle “taking”. It wasn’t until she found herself with three small children in a new town with no friends and an oldest child learning to knit in school, that she decided to give knitting a try. Thankfully, her new town had America’s largest yarn store! It took one very wide scarf, knit in very expensive yarn, to ignite a passion for knitting that has yet to run out.
Amy also has a passion for giving handmade gifts and she may, or may not, be known to give handmade items randomly to people she hardly knows - which is not awkward at all. This need for handmade gifts of all sorts has led her to designing quick, easy patterns that can be changed for all occasions. She can’t wait to share with her class this fall!
Amy can be found knitting and designing in her mini-van in parking lots and at swim meets all over the Pioneer Valley. She can also be found at Ms. Ellaneous Crafts a Life
