Huck lace is a fabric of extraordinary richness and diversity, while being among the most beautiful of weave structures. Eight-harness huck designs are particularly interesting, allowing weavers to create intricate patterns of circles, diamonds, and other shapes. This 3-workshop series will provide an introduction to designing 8-harness huck lace. Participants will design and weave one or more short projects during the time between sessions. Students must have access to, and familiarity with, an 8-harness loom in good working order; understand basic drafting principles; and feel comfortable dressing a loom and weaving the required projects over a four-week period.
