Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving on a Cricket Loom

Learn to weave a 10" scarf on the Cricket loom, a compact and capable portable rigid heddle loom. Students will learn how to determine ends-per-inch for their scarf project, determine the yardage needed, warp their looms, and get right to weaving. The second class will cover hem-stitching the scarf and cutting it off the loom.This beginner class will satisfy your creative urges in record time!

Time: 10:30am - 3:00pm first session; 10:30am - 12:30pm 2nd session
Materials Required:

  • 10" Cricket loom with 8-dent reed (provided by WEBS for use during class)
  • 500 yard of your choice of sock yarn, wound before class into a center-pull ball
  • Toilet paper
  • Brown craft paper or 2 grocery bags
  • Scissors
  • Suggested books: Woven Scarves by Jane Patrick and Stephanie Flynn Sokolov and The Weaver's Idea Book by Jane Patrick
