I love the feel of the flatter grip with the soft rubber-like material that helps you control the hook for long hours of fast work. It wasn't until after a few hour-long sessions, however, that I noticed I had developed a sore spot in the palm of my hand. I changed to an older bamboo-handled hook and immediately noticed it was longer and didn't end in the palm, but went past the edge of my hand. The longer hook did not hurt my hand but it wasn't as swift at work or nearly as smooth on the hook end. It felt more clumsy after the Knitter's Pride hook. I decided it would take time to accustom myself to the fit but I also kept going back to the old hooks rather than develop a toughened palm. But that smooth hook and faster work keeps me eager to make the effort!

I'm changing my opinion on these. (See my original review in May, 2012)I like my Clover soft touch hooks just a LITTLE BIT better than these. These are nice hooks, don't get me wrong, but they need to smooth out where the shaft is connected to the handle. On the Clover hooks, this juncture is ALWAYS smooth. Not so with these. Therefore, sometimes, your yarn can get snagged. These have a handle that are less "slippery" (for lack of a better word) than the Clover hook. But the price ([$] ea) is obviously more economical than the $7 for the Clover hook

I didn't expect to like this crochet hook as I have tried other hooks that supposedly keep hands comfortable while crocheting. I was surprised! The hook cover is comfortable and non-slip. The hook is smooth and my cotton yarn slides easily.

Use product for all crocheting needs. Love aluminum color contrast with all colors of yarn. Wish different sizes were different color handles or different color hooks for different sizes. Mark sizes on handles more permanently so they don't wear off so easily. Color code sizes on handles possibly.

I have these crochet hooks in several sizes. They have a nice weight in the hand and the grip is well-shaped for the hand. I find they make crochet much more comfortable and I don't get cramps in my fingers from gripping so tightly to a thin handle. I have hand arthritis and this allows me to work on projects much longer.
