Made a striped slouchy hat with 2 different skeins and it is very pretty when you do this. This is what they do in a lot of the sweater patterns from Noro too.

The Upside: This yarn has some really beautiful colors and is super warm knitted up. The Noro Stripped Scarf I made (Raverly pattern) turned out lovely.

The Downside: Both skeins I used were full of sharp small organic material that needed to be picked out every few yards (I'm not exaggerating). Plus it's very coarse. Most people would probably find it unpleasant against bare skin.

I decided I while I wouldn't recommend this yarn to a friend, I would use it again myself.

    Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

Silk Garden is without compare when it comes to making one-of-a-kind scarves that are warm, soft, and beautiful. Color changes can be abrupt and the weight can vary from thread-like to bulky within one ball, but there's nothing like a Silk Garden Scarf to make you a believer.

      Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I love Silk Garden for the feel and the way that the colors go together. I use multiple color ways in projects and they never clash.

I'll be knitting along and suddenly the color way will end and there will be a knot to begin another color tied onto the yarn.

          Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I bought this yarn for a specific entrelac scarf that my daughter saw online. She has very sensitive skin, so I try to watch what I make her that will go next to her skin. It turned out gorgeous! I work almost exclusively in natural fibers because I LOVE the feel of the fiber as it winds through my fingers while knitting. This yarn was very soft and didn't disappoint!

Its a bit of an uneven hand but I love the colors so much and used it so much I have gotten used to it.
As I said it is not easy to rip out and then pick up stitches , for a mistake. And not easy to unknit (tink) either.

I knitted this with size 13 needles in an embossed rib stitch and it is beautiful as you get the full color effect. I have knitted with silk garden before and have loved every item when it was done. Bear in mind it is slightly lighter that some worsted weight.

            Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I like the way the colors change giving my nice clean blocks of color on the entrelac scarf. I also loved that I could spit splice the yarn together when I added a new skein. The colors are so vivid and look nice together plus the feel of the fabric will be soft and warm. The thickness changes from bulky to fingering weight and everything in between. You really have to pay attention when it's is thick so you get what whole fluffy stitch. no complaints otherwise.

                Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

I have made countless hats and sweaters with NORO Silk Garden, after discovering it several years ago. It was the combination of natural fibers, fabulous colors and lightweight quality yarn that seduced me into knitting again.
The versatility is huge, the color selection great, and it holds up well when hand washing, very useful to the knitter who likes variety.
I also discovered Silk Garden works well with other natural yarns, especially if the added yarn is more neutral, as it intensifies the original colors of the chosen Silk Garden.
Silk Garden remnants work well into my small runner weavings, as well.
I rave about this yarn all the time, it is by far, my favorite yarn.
