Classic Elite Yarns Augustine Cowl (Free)

Augustine from Classic Elite is a knit cowl that is worked sideways, back and forth in rows, then short rows are worked to give the plain garter stitch edge a larger circumference than the sawtooth edge. There's no need to wrap and turn when working the short rows – the turn is hidden in the "valley" of the garter stitch and by the firmness of the gauge.

Finished Measurements: Approx 20¾" circumference on the sawtooth edge (measured above short rows) and 34½" circumference at the Garter Stitch edge
Yarn Requirements: 2 hanks of Chateau or Chalet by Classic Elite (70% baby alpaca, 30% bamboo; 50 g = approx 98 yards)
Needle(s): US size 8 (5mm) knitting needles
Gauge: 18 sts and 30 rows = 4" in Garter Stitch
