A few years ago, Santa Claus left me a note: "Please knit a Christmas stocking for Eli." (Eli is my grandson) What a pleasant assignment: knit for someone you love, and knit only a single stocking. This one is worked from the top down, with a center-back "seam" stitch.

Size: 15" top to heel-snip; another 12" from heel snip to tip of toe

Gauge: 7 sts = 1"

Materials: Shetland Jumper-Weight wool: 3oz dark red, 2oz green, 1oz Honey Beige
Two 24" circular needles (or a 16" circand a set of dpns)
approx. US 3 to 4, blunt weaving needle and a sharp darning-in needle.
