I am incredibly impressed with these needles. They combine the best of all worlds to me:

* They have the light weight of bamboo or wood, along with the slight 'grip' along the length of the needles that prevents needles from slipping out if you need to set your work down; this has often been an issue for me with metal needles, which tend to be heavier and are slightly more smooth along the length of the needle shaft.

* They have fine metal points. My primary issue with wood and bamboo needles, since I often work with no higher than size 3 or 4 US, is dull or dulling points. I don't have to worry about the tips wearing down after a few projects as I did with my smaller bamboo needles and replacing them repeatedly costs far more than a set of these in the long run! I'm hard on my needles, and these do not feel like I might easily break them unless I'm careful.

* I like the black. It really helps the stitches stand out without being a distraction. (Also, it's quite beautiful in person, with a subtle grain visible in it unseen in the images.) That the sizes are printed on the needle clearly, even at the very small sizes, is quite helpful, since smaller sizes aren't always available on needle sizers, and they can start blending together visually more easily than the larger sizes.

Not the "perfect needle."

The transition from the nickle point to the shaft often catches the yarn or makes it difficult for the yarn to slide down the needle as you work. Especially when purling.

The transition from the nickle point to the shaft often catches the yarn or makes it difficult for the yarn to slide down the needle as you work. Especially when purling.

The shaft is black. If you are working with dark yarn it is almost impossible to see your stitches.

The shaft is a little has a bit to much grip.

I like the fact that they don't bend out of shape as the bamboo do. I like that they are not as slippery as metal needles. But over all I find bamboo to be a better needle. Bamboo has moderate grab and not joint to interfere with the knitting and is easy to see your stitches on.

I'm not unhappy about my purchase but I rather doubt I will purchase another set unless the design changes.

Comments about Knitter's Pride Karbonz Double Pointed Needles 6":

I received these Karbonz needles and the join was rough on most of the needles so that my yarn caught on them. I requested a replacement and they were sent as soon as they became available. The new Karbonz work really well and I am really enjoying them. The customer service was excellent.

I really like the sharpness of the tips and the shafts aren't as slippery as plain metal needles. The disappointing part was the first time I used them one of the tips came off.

Used them for the first time on a hat, holds the yarn, yet slick where needed, at the tip. Knitting has never been so easy, I'll never use anything else! Love, love love these needles.

I purchased a pair to try with socks....these are awesome! I want more DPN's and circulars! They feel so good! The tip is just what I need and the grip on the needle keeps the yarn from falling off. I'm not a fast knitter, so these are perfect! Try a set!

Comments about Knitter's Pride Karbonz Double Pointed Needles 6":

I bought these as an upgrade to the size 0 bamboo needles I had been using to knit socks. The bamboo needles were so liable to snap that they included an extra 6th needle, and I could only pick up 3-4 stitches before I had to knit them to relieve the tension. With these carbon fiber needles I was able to pick up all 17 stitches on the heel flap before knitting them. At no point do they feel like they are going to snap. I'm also convinced they grip the yarn better than bamboo. I highly recommend that if you need size 0 or smaller needles to invest in these super strong carbon fiber needles.

                Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, perhaps quicker than expected. The packaging was bent over the top of the needles so it is no longer pristine, which is a shame because I am using the original packaging to store the needles.

Comments about Knitter's Pride Karbonz Double Pointed Needles 6":

These are a new treat for me. I keep making up stuff to knit to get them back into my hands. They hold the yarn on the needle perfectly. No slip, no stick. Using sizes US #1, #2 and #7's. LOVE this new option for socks. Made knitting them a tactile treat and quick. With matal needles- not my favrite sound, I either bend small ones, or if wood/bamboo, they break. These have a lovely firm flex. Only thing I had reservations about is the nickel tips; I like to minimize exposure to some metals, even through skin. Wouldn't copper be pretty? I would wax it to keep it free of snaggly corrosion, LOL... Still, probably not a big issue. Now I want all of them.

                Service and delivery comments:

Prompt delivery for a jonesing knit addict.

I was looking for double pointed knitting needles that would have good sharp points and would be easy for me to hold and the Karbonz did that for me. I have looked at these Karbonz needles several times, and will definitely be getting more in the near future.

These needles are smooth and yet have a good grab for the yarn. Good point to pick up stitches.

Not good for beginners. When I first used Karbonz I tended to split the yarn. Now with more experience, don't have that problem.

                Webs service is always good.

Needed these for a sock project where my bamboo needles weren't available in a size so small. Knitting with them feels fluid and fast like knitting with metal needles but the stitches stay on well like they would on bamboo.

They feel and look great, no issues with the transitions.
