Comments about Ironstone Yarns Color Changes:
I was surprised by the amount of other colors in this yarn. I bought it to provide some shade variety into my current project, and was shocked to see the BRIGHT green and red woven into this, definitely not what I expected nor what was pictured. Ended up sending it back.

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Color Changes:
This is a nice soft yarn. It is not, however, what I would call chunky. To me, it knits more like a heavy worsted. I think it is because it is so light and airy....and not twisted, that once it is worked, it compresses down a little if you are not very very careful. I had to go up from size 11 to 13 needles to get the correct sizing. It also pulls apart while stitching and is difficult to rip stitches back apart. I recommend it on sale, not full price.

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Color Changes:
Bought several different colors to make hats and scarves for holiday gifts. The colors are lovely and random (so don't plan on matching colors in rows just let it be what it will be). First project was a Harris tweed stitch scarf and about to match up a hat with it. For the price you can't beat the fun results you get.

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Color Changes:
It works up into beautiful stripes on hats, the colors don't puddle, and you can't wait to see how the next color is going to work up. The darker colors come out subtle and manly and the brights are perky and a lot of fun.
Within one ball, and from one ball to the next there is no pattern repeat that I could find. This is not a bad thing for hats, but would be tricky for gloves or a sweater where you wanted the cuffs to resemble each other. Not necessarily identical, mind you, but somewhat close would be nice.
The twist of the strand is loose, and the yarn comes apart when sewing a seam on the hat, so I don't think I'd want to make a sweater with it, but it's great for lovely soft hats and probably scarves. I'm using it for charity hats because with the part acrylic I figure if the recipients ever wash their hat, it's less likely to felt.
The weight is closer to a worsted than some of the other brands' bulky weight, and part of this is because of the looseness of the twist.

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Color Changes:
the yarn can be alittle onery at the start of ball..but if you take a few yards off and roll..the rest will come off like it's suppose to. this is really the only thing I have found that is a flaw is how it is wound..

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Color Changes:
This yarn has a fun stripped coloring and the price (on sale) is certainly agreeable. I have discovered a number of irritating knots in more than one ball, however, and the stuff is not very soft. I'd buy again at this price but wouldn't pay much more for it.
