Knitter's Pride Magma Fold-Up Style Chart Keeper
This Knitter's Pride Magma Fold-Up Style Chart Keeper is an indispensable pattern holder and a handy way to keep and display patterns and charts while working on a project. Useful for all knitters, but a “must-have” for lace knitters, it is a convenient tool for keeping patterns close and making them easy to read. The Chart Keeper easily unfolds for use and folds up for storage. It also stands upright in either the vertical or horizontal position. There are handy pockets for a pen, patterns, and charts. Strong magnets keep your charts secure and in place while you work. The black poly-jacquard fabric is sturdy and easy to keep clean.

With the magnets, you easily keep track of where you are in a chart instead of depending on memory, which can be so very faulty (esp. after that glass of wine). I have two of these so I don't have to swap project pages (since I always have a least a half dozen WIPs, usually one colorwork and one lace).

Not really big enough when in use. I have to fold the patterns to fit the area. Folded up it's a good size to travel with.

This does excactly what it says. The magnets keep your place on the pattern, and it can be stood up or used flat. It seems very good quality and solid, which means it's not light, but that is more than made up for by the solid feel and very strong magnets..

The smaller version of the chart keeper is 11 " along one dimension, but not the one which allows display of an 8 1/2 by 11" page at a convenient angle to read. After buying the smaller version on-line, I dropped by Northampton and bought the larger one which works well. The magnets are good and strong for the job which is a plus. Their flat shape with no gripping edge can make them a little bit difficult to move from line to line on a chart.

This is great to keep track while you knit or crochet. I use the long magnet strip to mark my line and one of the small magnets to track where I am on that line. It's very portable and includes a pocket inside for your stitch markers, extra needles, etc. I gave one as a gift and liked it so much I bought myself one as well.

After years of trying to use clipboards, post-it notes, paper clips, rubber bands and even hair clips to mark my place on my knitting patterns, I have finally found the perfect pattern holder! The Magma Fold-up Chart Keeper is wonderful! The small magnets are very strong and hold the pattern in place, the magnetic strip makes it easy to follow pattern instructions, the extra pocket is great for other info/patterns I want to carry, and it folds up and snaps closed so everything is held in place. This chart keeper is also great to just stick in my knitting bag and take along -- I don't have to worry about things falling out or getting lost. It's sort of bulky, but I think that's because it's so sturdy, and I did order the largest size.

I have the smaller size and have to fold up patterns to use there while this one, I can just leave it alone. The magnetic bar is useful to mark your place if you need to walk away. It then folds over, snaps and keeps the pattern looking good.A pen comes with it, but that has a tendency to fall out.
