I was knitting my first Aran sweater for my husband. Of course, the pattern called for cable needles. All went well until I came to the yoke. I am still struggling with it, but the cable needles help.

I just bought these needles a few months ago, and I just began to use them a few weeks ago as I learned to knit cables. I'm using the one of larger girth right now, and it seems to be pretty sturdy. I like that it has sharply-pointed ends to help me get through the loops of really tight stitches and that it's smooth enough for ease of operation yet not too, too slick. They're comfortable to use (if you're careful not to poke yourself with them).
Since both needles are of a fairly small gauge, I'm not sure how they would perform with making heavy, bulky cables, but so far, I'm really pleased.
