On-the-Go Knitter's Tote

What knitter isn't a "bag lady" of some sort? I've got bags of yarn, bags for every ongoing project, and now fabric bags for my groceries. This colorful knitted bag is the perfect size to carry your knitting projects and a magazine or two.
Finished Measurements: Approx 16" wide x 14" high x 4" deep
Yarn: Nashua Handknits Julia; 3 skeins each of colors A-C, 1 skein each of colors D-H
Needles: US 5 & 7 24" circular needles
Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, 20" plain sew-on leather handles, 1 yd of 45" wide medium-weightfabric, 3.75" x 15.75" piece of mat board, matching sewing thread, sewing needle
Gauge: 20 sts and 22 rnds = 4" in St st over chart pat using larger circular needle
20 sts and 40 rows = 4" in garter st using smaller circular needle
