Comments about Imperial Yarn Columbia 2-Ply:

I bought this yarn for a cabled cardigan. I love the depth of color and the full bodied structure of the yarn. Grown and processed in the US is a definite plus. It is spun from a breed that is soft but not lustrous so don't expect a glowing yarn. One of my favorites.

        Nice, but knots

Comments about Imperial Yarn Columbia 2-Ply:

Each of my skeins had at least three knots. I think this was because it is a mulespun yarn. As a result, the yarn is fluffy, a little uneven, and has great body. Also as a result, there are often knots in one ply that have been plied into the yarn. This was also the case with mulespun from Beaverslide, so I think it's from the mill. Nevertheless, it's a nice yarn that blooms beautifully.

Comments about Imperial Yarn Columbia 2-Ply:

The yarn is an odd size/weight. Once I found the gauge, the yarn works up in a heavy, thick mat that feels like cotton yarn not wool yarn that it is labeled to be. I prefer to knit 100% wool yarn products. I made an Irish knit type pattern with this yarn. The yarn had debris in it.

Comments about Imperial Yarn Columbia 2-Ply:

I bought this yarn to use in the Arrowhead cardigan (see patterns) designed for this yarn. I purchased the turquoise for the main color and am using some of my own gray as the contrast color. This yarn is a real pleasure to knit. I will definitely buy more. Excellent for sweaters. Would also be excellent for warm hats, cowls, and mittens.

All the skeins I bought for a sweater had knots, some had up to six. Pills terribly, it looked worn out the first time I wore the sweater. Not sure what you would knit out of this yarn. The color I bought was nice but I noticed the other dye lots of the same color were drastically different.

I am designing a vest using a stockinette trellis pattern. It is coming along as I envisioned. I havent any comments about blocking or pilling or bleeding yet, but I did buy this yarn because I had used this company's Tracie Too sport wt and Really liked it!

Comments about Imperial Yarn Columbia 2-Ply:

I ordered this yarn in the natural un-dyed charcoal grey color and i love the color. Its like a true, rustic sheeps wool and I like the look of it for sweaters. It has a very earthy, organic, rustic look that I love. Its a bit expensive for being un-dyed wool but i understand that anything made in America costs more and I am willing to pay to support American made goods. A couple of the skeins had quite a few knots which was rather annoying. overall I would recommend this yarn, especially the natural charcoal color, because it I love the look of it. I have not seen a yarn similar in color in a very long time. I will use again to make matching sweaters for my family.
