I've make more slouch hats out of this than I can count. Great stitch definition, great drape, & extremely soft. Plus so many beautiful colors to choose from! The only reason I give it 4 stars out of 5 is that it is incorrectly labeled a 'worsted' weight. It is not even a 'light worsted', it is a full on DK weight so buy accordingly.

I bought 2 skeins of this lovely looking yarn (not from WEBS)& crocheted a pair of socks for my daughter's BF for Xmas. They came out great, but when I washed & dried them, as the label suggested, they came out horrible. I had even put them in a small laundry bag that zips shut & yet they were fuzzy & baggy after the 1st wash & dry. I don't know if it was because it was the heathered yarn or if all of the colors do this. But I probably won't give this yarn a 2nd try....

I am crocheting an afghan for my niece's wedding gift. I hope that using Cascade Superwash will make it easy to care for the afghan and will allow it to provide years of use.

I'm making the Fisherman's Pullover from 60 quick baby knits. I've just started and I'm about 3 inches into the front and I'm very satisfied with the yarn. The color Ruby is more maroon than red.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash:
I crocheted a custom baby blanket for a client. The medium weight (4) I do not think applies to this yarn. More on the thinner side. It was a very slow process to crochet up and I'm a fast knitter/crocheter. The yarn would just not move along! And, it was far too stretchy!
Because the yarn was thinner and much to stretchy, it caused the yarn to be slow. I would have needed twice or three times the amount of yarn to make the same blanket again.
I'm not sure what would be a good thing to knit or crochet with this yarn! Just too stretchy!

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash:
I really like this yarn, contrary to WEBS reviews, I did not have one problem with this yarn. It is soft, not downy, just pleasantly wooly soft. I made Berrocco's Napoleon vest, it has not pilled and it did not stretch in the wash--I was worried it might-- it did get a tiny bit longer like I expected from hanging it while damp.
I really like how it feels, softer than the regular 220. And the many of the colors are knock-out pretty. I used 1949 Lavender, oohhh-my. : )
If considering this and still in doubt, look at finished items on Ravelry.

I bought this yarn to make an afghan for our bed. It came out great. It's really soft. I have washed it but do not dry any hand knitted garments even if it says you can. It has held up well for the past year

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash:
I purchased this yarn for a baby blanket for a relative, specifically because it is a superwash yarn. It knitted up quite stiffly, but I figured it would soften up once washed. In fact it did soften up, but it also pilled, shredded, and some of the seams actually came apart. The blanket looks like it's been used and washed multiple times, not just finished today. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed and upset after many many hours of work. Obviously this can't be given as a gift. This is one yarn I will not buy again and cannot recommend.

Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash:
I was very pleased with the baby blanket made from this yarn until the washing nightmare. It grew dramatically in the washing machine and ripped in many places. This is not machine washable yarn, will never use this yarn again.
Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash:
The weight is different. This is more of a DK than a worsted. Knit on a size 5 or 6 (if tight knitter) and you should be okay. Any looser and there will be problems. Also, very, very splitty. Used it for a cabled sweater - huge mistake.
Comments about Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash:
Selected this yarn for gift knitting because it was superwash and the color was beautiful. Unfortunately, the yarn feels far more coarse after knitting than in the skein, it "grows" considerably during washing (although the dryer gets it somewhat back in shape) and it pills. It does soften up after washing. The yarn (and the resulting project) are so disappointing that I will never use this yarn again. In my opinion, it is as bad as cheap acrylic.
