The pattern calls for casting on 8 stitches and one skein would be enough for a scarf. As I neared the end, there was not enough yarn to complete the scarf since it was little more than 24 inches. Ripped out and cast on only 6 stitches and this appears a better amount of stitches to complete the scarf.

So easy to use and knits so fast. Holds it shape as a ruffle, making a nice tight spiral. The finished scarf is so dense that it is uncomfortable against the neck because the lace is so course. Looks great as an accent with a turtle neck. 1skein makes a medium length skinny scarf, really need 2 for nice size.

While I thought the lace yarn looked beautiful, and loved the color, the texture of the product is extremely rough / coarse. Once knitted into a boa scarf, because the lace is so wide, it looks exagerated. And, because it's so coarse, it's uncomfortable to wear.
Personally, I would not recommend this to fellow knitters.

Tried to make the double ruffle using this "yarn" and Tecido Trico. Way too thick and difficult to work together. Made the scarf by itself in black -looses lace detail. Too thick a scarf - looks like old time boa.
