Comments about Araucania Itata Solid:

I purchased this to knit a pair of socks, attracted by the fiber content and the low price. Due to the bamboo content the hand is not as soft as pure wool. The bamboo adds a lustre to the fabric that is quite attractive. However it does not add strength and the wearing properties of the fabric are poor - if used for socks, you should reinforce heels and toes with nylon-containing wool. No felting, but abrasion does make the fabric "silvery" as the bamboo fibres split out. The yarn has low elasticity compared to other sock yarns I have used.

I would not recommend this for high-abrasion items such as socks or gloves/mittens. Would be best used in scarves or shawls.

I LOVE this yarn! I finally found something to make small shawletts with that is not stiff like wool, so slippery it slides off my sholders like silk, and actually has body...unlike acrylics. This yarn is great. If I had more money i would get all of what is on the site!

Love this yarn. Did not find it to be linen-like, as previous reviewer. Yardage is generous - made 2 pr fingerless gloves plus baby socks from one skein. Very nice to knit with - not splitty. Yarn has body of wool and softness of silk & bamboo. Would buy again.

this yarn surprised me with the way it feels. For such a high wool content, it has very little elasticity. Instead, it has linen-like feel and drape, but softer.
