This is such a creative yarn. Yes, it is expensive. I have rarely used it alone to make a lovely one-skein ruffly short scarf. I make larger scarves mixing with a plain yarn that blends in with the color scheme. I also have used it for details, stripes embedded in sweaters.
The economic and social impact of the yarn also appeal to me.

I was intrigued by the scarf in the WEBS catalogue and decided to give this a try. It made up quickly and and it is a beautiful accessory. I was pleased enough that when I was next at the store I purchased a different color to make a scarf for my daughter. I agree that it is expensive (although I got the WEBS discount), but I like the social consciousness aspect of the yarn. It makes up into intriguing textures and lovely colorways. I think if you wanted it longer, you could easily add to the number of stitches and it would still be wide enough.

I purchased a skein just to try it, because it's so expensive - the colors & textures looked so gorgeous! I was VERY disappointed when I tried to roll it into a ball, what a tangled mess! I found that this yarn is nothing more than SCRAPS of various yarns knotted together to equal the 100 yds. (if you're lucky), & Be Sweet isn't being truthful about the fibers in this, either - not everything in the skein was hand-dyed or hand-spun, some of it had tinsel strands, some of it was ribbon, & so on. It's VERY expensive yarn for such a small amount! Now add your disappointment on top of that! I'd never recommend it & I'll never buy another skein!

Used WEBS pattern from recent catalog, my scarf was 4 inches short and I am a loose knitter. Yarn was broken in 3 places and was a mess to work with. Where yarns were twisted together they didn't match up-waste of money for me. Returned the 2nd skein I purchased for a refund.
