Berroco Blackstone Tweed
Soft and tweed don't usually go together in the same sentence, but thanks to the addition of super kid mohair and angora, Berroco Blackstone Tweed is a stunner. The gorgeous palette means beautiful finished garments in either one color or colorwork. Made in Italy.

Comments about Berroco Blackstone Tweed:
Used US size 4 needles with this to make a hat. The fabric is dense without being stiff. The flecks in the yarn are gorgeous and add interest. The yarn base is also a bit heathered so high color interest while still being nearly solid. I liked this so much I am considering making a sweater with it.

Wanted to love this, but it's just OK in my book. Made the Nora Gaughan cable yoke vogue turtleneck. came out lovely, but it is a bit thin, breaks easily, and doesn't have any body when knit. I'm pretty insensitive to wool, but found this a bit itchy around the neck. Still nice though, and I'll probably use it again for a cardigan.
Comments about Berroco Blackstone Tweed:
I am currently on my third cable knit sweater with this yarn. It is as the other reviews state as far as thinness but it works up and lays beautifully. For it being a soft yarn I thought it would pill, but my 1st sweater has been washed 3 times now and no pills!

I wrote "gorgeous , but" and have since received more MATCHED LOT yarn- a big thank you to Webs. I have to give it one more star. I finished my son's sweater. I couldn't be more pleased with the yarn-so soft, no itch whatsoever and so warm and chic. It bloomed beautifully. My problem now is the lining up of young people exclaiming "fabulous" followed by " would you make me one, I love it" Please...
Comments about Berroco Blackstone Tweed:
I really like the colors of this yarn, but the yarn is anemic. It needs a shot of something. Very, very, very thin for a tweed. Rowen felted tweed is a much better choice for a thin tweed. The gauge is wacky to make the yarn come off, so I knitted two strands together to see what it would do: kind of anemic. Not a lot of loft, just kind of sat there for a tweed, a little "rough" for a tweed. I did not order more of this yarn.
Comments about Berroco Blackstone Tweed:
It is gorgeous, soft, easy to work with. It's thin for a worsted, so I ran out of yarn for my sweater and just ordered more, probably not a matching lot . Very inconvenient and a lot more expensive than initially planned. Also, the two different colors had slightly different thicknesses. For my pattern- a rough and tumble country sweater-, that's not a problem, but it would be for a different one. That's why I'm giving it four stars, not five.
Comments about Berroco Blackstone Tweed:
I agree with the other commenter that this is thinner than the ball band gauge would indicate. It knits up very "holey" at the ball band gauge. However, it is very soft. I just need to find a worsted weight project for it instead of the aran weight one I was planning for it.

I little thin for a worsted, but gorgeous colors.
