I use this yarn to make hats and booties for babies, which I sell online, at local craft fairs and shops. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this yarn. It is always consistent, easy to crochet with and super soft. I find it to be the perfect yarn for baby items. It also washes like a dream - I couldn't ask for more.

I used this yarn for a baby blanket--I used 4 different colors. I loved the color availability and feel of this yarn--very soft and comfy. Plus, it's machine washable. However, the weights of the different colors were different--kind of a big deal when knitting color blocks for the blanket. In addtion, some colors had a few knots and were hard to find the center-pull within the hank. Nearing the end of the project, I had to use another hank and all was going well until I got to a huge knotted mess within the center of the hank. It took some time to undo the knotted mess since the yarn is fine (DK weight). Had I not been near the end of the blanket, I proabably would have used another yarn. Once I got past that, I should say it did make a nice blanket, just not sure I would use this again for such a big project. I wonder if the worsted weight has the same issues?

    Comments about Berroco Comfort DK:

I bought three skeins of this yarn in varying colors to make a hat for a commission. It was for a newborn infant, so I wanted something that was part or mostly acrylic so it would be easily washable. However, I detest most acrylic "baby" yarns. I often find that although they are marketed as soft and comfy, they aren't that great of quality. I've also bought plenty of acrylic yarns that feel nicer when wound in a ball than they do worked into a garment.
Not so with this yarn. Not only is it relatively inexpensive, it feels fabulous in a skein and just as good when knitted (although I haven't used it in a crochet project yet). I've also washed it multiple times with no problems having it unravel, fray, or fade. I definitely plan to use it in future projects.

      Comments about Berroco Comfort DK:

The texture and quality was superior. Love the soft finished product. Two balls, 178 yards each completed a cowl pattern that 3 balls 137 each of another d'oeuvres could not. Clearly Berroco's 356 yards was accurate. 411 yards was not. Ordered "other" for shade Berroco didn't have.

The order was not correct. However, extra yarn skeins were put in to make up the difference. I was able to make the colors in order work. I have not completed my project as of yet to give full rating performance. However, I am please so far.

          Comments about Berroco Comfort DK:

I love this yarn mainly because it is the softest acrylic I have ever used and it comes in beautiful colors! I designed a sweater with this yarn for my latest book & my daughter begged me for the sweater. It's still with the publisher for the photo shoot, so I'm making another one to surprise her for Christmas.

I've used this yarn before to crochet a crib blanket. I needed to crochet a coverlet for an antique trundle bed. After testing out many other yarns in my stash I came back to old faithful. I'm almost finished. I'm using cadet blue. It will be beautiful against the cherry wood of the trundle bed and coordinate nicely with the quilt I'm making for the overhead rope bed.
