I ordered this yarn, because it was recommended for the pattern I was going to use out of the book, Knitting 101. But it is just wonderful to work with; it us soft and moves smoothly through my fingers and over the needles. I have nothing negative to say about this product.

This yarn has very little stretch and after trying several different cast on methods I decided not to make a sweater with it. It also had many little tufts of white yarn that didn't belong in the blue/green varigated yarn I purchased. When I tried to remove them, the yarn separated and couldn't be twisted back to the original shape. There were also several knots in the skein I tried to work with. The colors are beautiful and I am disappointed that it wouldn't work out for my project but the unopened skeins are going back.

    Comments about Berroco Comfort:

This yarn is best for anything baby or young child. It is very durable and washable. It becomes splitty when knitting sometimes, especially when reknitting after frogging. It is not blockable for size, but looks much nicer after washing and laying flat to dry. It has a much, much nicer feel than other acrylics. There is no "plastic" sensation at all.

            Comments about Berroco Comfort:

I have knit three afghans with this yarn. The stitch definition is great, the finished product is so soft and best of all it's machine washable.

The only complaint I have about it is that it is difficult to darn in the ends as it untwists so easily. I ended up having to use a bit of fabric glue so the joins didn't show.

I'm making a bedsized blanket. It feels wonderful worked up. Will be warm and soft. I do have to pay attention because the yarn splits. Looking at pictures of it I thought it would have been spun a bit tighter.

            Comments about Berroco Comfort:

The yarn is amazingly soft. It will be perfect for a chemo hat. However, it is not a good yarn for crocheting. It has too many plies that constantly get caught by the hook. It might work better as a knitting yarn. I will finish crocheting this hat and then give another color a try with knitting.
