Blue Sky Alpacas Metalico

Blue Sky Alpacas has blended their scrumptiously soft baby alpaca with lustrous mulberry silk to create Metalico. The natural shades of alpaca are undyed, and the silk gives a sheen reminiscent of precious metal. Knit on a larger needle, this gorgeous yarn will make lovely lacey projects with fabulous drape. On a smaller needle, Metalico acts like a sport weight and knits up into a more substantial fabric for light, warm sweaters and hats. A great choice for everyday luxury! Made in Peru.

Comments about Blue Sky Alpacas Metalico:

I really enjoyed knitting with this yarn and I think with the correct project it can really shine. I had originally chosen to knit gloves with it, but it is more of a fancy yarn for shrugs or shawls.

Interestingly, I found this specific yarn very slippery on my needles (I used bamboo too!) and on the ball winder. I found that winding the yarn was a task that should be done very slowly and with care.

Overall and after I changed my project, this yarn draped beautifully in the shawl that knit up and it looks fabulous! I totally recommend it.
