Good wool for knitting a heavy outdoor sweater. I knit a heavy Gurnsey sweater with this wool. The sweater came out really nice. The design of the pattern was nicely accented by the wool. The sweater was for my husband. He needed a heavy layer to keep him warm. This wool does the trick! He wears the sweater with a turtleneck so itching isn't a problem.

Mohair not so great
Great looking yarn, but when knitted into a sweater, created a mohair storm on everything that it touched. The single-ply yarn just didn't have enough twist to hold the slippery mohair firmly enough. ...Read complete review

Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
I used two different colors to make a hat from Hip Hop Hats by Cathy Carron, and used the Valery pattern. My husband liked it so much, I had enough yarn to make one for him. It was the recommended yarn to use and it turned out great except go to Pond Edge for errata, this book is full of mistakes!

Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
I love this yarn. I am a beginner knitter and this yarn is great. It holds its shape when I have to unknit to fix mistakes.. it is a joy to hold and work with. It is strong and does not break easily.. perfect for someone like me with kids who tug on their yarn.

Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
I agree with the others - one cannot wear this next to the skin (not even husband can!) and it sheds. I don't understand why designers show it used for jackets and pullovers. BUT I love the colour range. Such a shame.
Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
This yarn works great for felting. It is way too scratchy to be worn next to the skin, in my opinion. But the mohair seems to give felted projects a nice sturdiness. I've gone through several skeins- no knots.
Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
This began pilling while I was still knitting it! I would only use this for felting.
Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
This stuff is way too itchy to be worn next to your skin. Great for bags and such, however.
Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
I bought this yarn few years ago, and it made for a very itchy sweater, but it made a great bag!
Comments about Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky:
I made a purse/tote and felted it. It is my first felted project and felted beautifully and was easy to work with. I would highly recommend this yarn for knitted/felt projects. I will try combining this with a lighter weight yarn to get a little lighter purse. But it did turn out beautiful!!!!
