I love working with this yarn, I have made so many things, blankets, scarfs, wraps, pillows, house shoes. It is a perfect yarn for everything. What I have a hard time is getting different colors to ship to Hawaii where I am currently stationed. We have only Ben Franklin Crafts here and they sell very little yarn.

i made a simple lace scarf with this and the finished product was pretty and the colors lovely, but knitting with it was a pain. The yarn is far too fragile -- especially if there is a chance you might have to frog even the least little bit to correct an error. I had to make 4 felt joins in one skein when the yarn unexpectedly broke on me because it got tugged on for several different reasons. And these tugs were nothing out of the ordinary and the same kind of tugs I would give any kind of yarn and expect it to hold up! I've never worked with a yarn this flimsy before and hope I don't have too again.

                Comments about Cascade Yarns Casablanca:

I chose the yarn because of the colors and gradation. But it breaks SO easily! I was making a small item and even then it was so frustrating I about gave up. I'm really glad I wasn't trying a sweater with it! I do NOT recommend this product. I have used Cascade yarns before and always been happy.

                  Comments about Cascade Yarns Casablanca:

I have never encountered a yarn which breaks so easily. This yarn is so fragile that it is completely useless, and it's fragility is surprising given that wool and silk are both strong fibers. The colors of the yarn are attractive, however it does not carry the lustre of silk. I would compare the experience of knitting with this yarn to what it might be like to knit with colorful dryer lint.

There are so many beautiful yarns out there to choose from; this one might look attractive, but I would highly recommend that you continue looking and choose something else.

                        Comments about Cascade Yarns Casablanca:

I bought this in-store because the colorway (08, Forest) caught my eye- a blend of natural, oranges, greens, and browns. I love the color changes and am using it to crochet Kristin Olmdahl's "Infinity Wrap". However, this is a very rough-textured yarn- I'm not sure I want this wrap wrapping around me, let alone giving it as a gift (as I originally intended). Also, as other reviewers mentioned, this yarn is very fragile and often, when working with it, the strand gets thinner and thinner until it is very close to snapping. I probably won't buy this yarn again.

Fun to work with as the colors rotate through but frustrating when the yarn gets so thin and breaks off while you are knitting. I have never experienced this in a yarn before and would not expect it since this yarn is fairly expensive.

I have not made a project from this yarn yet, as I've only knit a few swatches. But I would for sure use this lovely yarn for sweaters, hats scarves, cowls, nearly anything and everything. I'll write another review after I've made something and blocked it.

The yarn is really wonderful with a great halo and good colors BUT the yarn kept breaking when working with the lightest color areas. I'd say that the yarn broke at least 5 times while I was working on the Casablanca hoodie pattern. It broke three times alone while I was completing the front bands, not an easy place to fix the joins. I would recommend it only with caveats about the fragility.
