My problem was not yarn, but interface--making a fine selection of color online was a waste of time. Neither color I bought looked like the photo--I know there is a difference in monitors so I checked out color on two machines. Still, a big discrepancy--"Midnight Heather" looks like a medium blue on screen but is actually very dark like... midnight. (I took a chance I'd get what I was looking at, but should have believed the name.) "Turquoise Pebble" is much greener than turquoise. Settled for rather than hassle a return, but a little annoyed. Not sure I'd buy from the site again. If I had a picture, I'd upload it.

I bought this online. The color pictured was not quite what I expected: the colors I got were better, deeper with more nuance. It seems to have nice weight to it as well as some sturdiness. As a skein it feels nice so I hope it will knit up nice. I have not knitted with it yet but want to make mitts and matching hats.

This is my go-to yarn for standard knitting; not pretentious or special at all, but gets the job done reliably and well. It felts when you want it to felt, but doesn't felt if you don't run it through the washing machine. Right off the shelf, it's lovely; if you store it in a closet somewhere for ten years and then come back to it, it's still lovely. Amazing array of colors, many of which coordinate, and undyed skeins for when you still can't find the color you wanted.

I love making sweaters for others, mostly "grown-up" children and grandchildren. They really appreciate the items which I knit for them. I don't always use Cascade 220, but this has very nice stitch definition because what I make most likely has cables and lace.

This is one of my favorite affordable yarns. It comes in a fantastic variety of colors. If I find it on sale at WEBS, I stock up on at least 6 balls to have enough to make a simple sweater for me or my husband. I highly recommend it for sweaters. The price can't be beat for the yardage and quality. Though 100% wool, it is not itchy. It is fine next to the skin, or as outerwear.
