I have a sweater knit from this yarn that I have been wearing since 2003 - it is my 'at the office sweater' - and it still looks gorgeous, feels great and wears extremely well. Yes, the yarn is more expensive but it is well worth the investment since the garment you knit will look beautiful almost a decade later! Go for it!

It is a very soft yarn, but cashmere is a short haired compared to other fibers like alpaca, therefore it pills. I have knit with alpaca/ silk yarns and they feel just as soft as cashmere without the annoying pilling. I would give it a higher rating, however, this yarn is just too expensive compared to other yarns that can be purchased for a lot less of the same quality.
