Classic Elite Yarns
Classic Elite Yarns Verde Collection Woodland
The latest addition to Classic Elite’s Verde Collection, Woodland contains nettles, which is a fiber similar to flax or hemp, but more environmentally friendly as it can be grown in any soil condition and requires minimal use of chemicals. Combined with wool, the two fibers take color differently, creating a stunning effect. Made in Italy.

I love the color as well as the texture. It is so soft and tender. I am making a hat with a ton of cables which show perfectly with this yarn. Intended for a gift; I'm keeping it myself

I bought this for a craftsy class on double knitting and turned around and bought more! It's a great fiber at a great price. The nettle takes the dye differently, so the colors have amazing depth and are slightly muted. It is a "sticky" wool, so it is perfect for brioche as well as any other knitting project!

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Verde Collection Woodland:
I made a shawl using the Classic Elite pattern shown online. It had a complicated stitch (Indian Stitch) which showed very nicely with this yard. On wearing it I thought that it was a bit scratch on the neck. I'd like to know how the nettles are processed. I know that bamboo processing is anything but "eco-friendly".

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Verde Collection Woodland:
I'm using the Violet yarn to knit the CEY Woodland Shawlette. I love the color variation afforded by the 2 fibers and there is good stitch definition. I do however find the yarn roughs up my fingers during knitting and the yarn tends to grip itself if you have to back out multiple stitches. The shawlette pattern is quite lovely and I'm hoping a Eucalan bath will soften it up a little more.

Knitted up a triangle shawl in the ash color, which is gorgeous. A pleasure to work with. Feels great. Loved the way to two fibers took the dye differently to make a sort of tweed effect. Very enthusiastic about using such an earth friendly material!
