I made three coats with this yarn, using Debbie Bliss patterns. Although the yarn is coarse, you need to understand that this is consistent with most tweeds. Its bulky weight allows you to knit the garment quickly, and it yields a beautiful "fabric". The yarn gets softer after blocking, and holds up well.

I've knit up a large swatch, about 10" x 10", to try out a seed stitch/4-stitch cable "plaid" pattern for a mid-thigh jacket. It's dense but very pliable on US #10 and knits fast. I almost feel I'm creating fabric in this stitch. The cables don't stand out in high relief but I like that - they're more part of the entire surface texture. It's going to be a knock-out garment with firm shaping AND gentle drape.

This yarn, coarse to the feel, rips very easily. Certainly impossible to seam with it. I've knitted for decades, and never had to resort to fabric glue before. Good that it's being discontinued.

This is great yarn that becomes much softer after washing. I made a quick man's scarf with 2 skeins. He loves it, as do I. It is rugged looking but soft. I'm planning a vest for him next.
