    Elsebeth Lavold ViSilk

Elsebeth Lavold ViSilk is a captivating yarn with an interesting composition - it's made of viscose fiber with a touch of silk, and matte tufts that provide contrast to the smooth viscose. It's perfect for comfortable warm-weather garments. Made in Italy

        Comments about Elsebeth Lavold ViSilk:

I used this to make Baby Cocktail's Vodka Lemonade. So far, I think it will drape very nicely. The silk shows off in the seed stitch in particular. It is not as pleasant to knit with as I'd like. I don't like knitting with cottons and this seems similar. I much prefer a merino but for those who like to knit with cotton and cotton blends this will be much silkier. I'm using Karbonz circulars.

        Comments about Elsebeth Lavold ViSilk:

I am knitting the Askew Cardigan featured in Knit.wear Spring 2013 and so far I am very happy with this yarn. It knits up beautifully but I had to switch from my metal needles to rosewood ones because the yarn was just too slippery on metal. Bonus is the slippery makes it knit up really fast.

The only complaint is that the yarn splits a bit, it is a hundred tiny strands of kitten soft fiber goodness in a medium twist so you have to pay attention to it and use sharp needle tips. I can put up with the splits...its so worth it.

It has beautiful drape and holds its shape well, there is almost no stretching, which I was a bit worried about. The stitch definition is amazing, I would love to see cables or lace in this. Also for the silk content, you don't get that heavy musty silk smell you get with some yarns.

If I hadn't already blown my yarn budget for the month I'd go get more...:-) very happy.

        Comments about Elsebeth Lavold ViSilk:

I like the slubs and the dull sheen. My only complaint (and it's small) would be that once the yarn has untwisted, it's hard to corral all the threads.

I have not finished the sweater I am making, but it is going to be a beautiful spring knit for my daughter. We live in the south so I think it will be an ideal weight for our warm spring weather.

i would not recommend this yarn to anyone. It pills and looks like it was washed and worn as you start knitting on it. it is very soft that is the only good quality it has.
