Comments about Artyarns Ultramerino 4 Closeout:

If using in the natural state, this yarn which comes with the texture of string, must be washed before balling up. Use hot water and swoosh it around holding onto the hank, of course. It will be fluffed and ready to knit. Additional washing will yield a softer and softer texture. Excellent for dying, it is beautiful left naturally.

Really nice yarn- for a cardigan

Comments about Artyarns Ultramerino 4 Closeout:

I really like this yarn. It is rather yellowish and ivory in colour but appears to be untreated with harsh chemicals as it retains a pleasant sheepy smell. I was surprised to see it wasn't tagged with any identification when it arrived though. A tight spin which made winding into a ball a bit loopy at times and multiple fine plies make it resistant to pilling. I haven't made socks or dyed it, but I crocheted a lovely stretchy cardigan in a vertical eyelet/ribbing stitch. The cardigan is lovely to wear and holds its shape beautifully while being most stretchy. I've had a number of compliments about this garment. The wool is a finer micron than standard sock wools and is all merino, which has been perfect for this garment (though I imagine not as hardwearing for socks). It washes softer and lighter in colour and should continue to do so.

This yarn takes dye beautiful; extremely vivid colors. And once wash, blooms and becomes quite soft.

    Who knows what it is?

Comments about Artyarns Ultramerino 4 Closeout:

Warning, this yarn is not tagged. There is no indication as to its origin, its weight, its yardage. It is not a bleached natural. It is yellow. Is it even Ultramerino 4? Who can say? It doesn't even remotely resemble Ultramerino 4.
