Terrific depth of colors, and interesting texture---love working with it! Be aware that the russets, browns, gold and cranberry spectrum are much darker than the online images. Rather than return lots of it, I adapted my expectations and design. The greys/blues are true to the image….

If you love a really varied palette in your tweed, this is for you. Because of the many textures I was hesitant about itchiness, but it is soft, soft, soft.
One of the more interesting yarns I've worked with: great color depth and hand.

I love this yarn. It knits well, wears well, and looks great. I will be knitting a second sweater with this yarn and would do a third. It helped that the price was reduced so much by Webs!

Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool XL:

I am currently a hat which will be part of a 3 piece set including a scarf and fingerless mitts. I chose this yarn because of the cable stitches and desire to have a good stitch definition. I have not washed the yarn;hoping it will soften a little when I do. I am knitting it at a worsted weight gauge and it does seem more between a worsted and chunky weight.

Comments about Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool XL:

I bought the Cherry Red to make myself a big, warm, snuggly shawl. The color was pinker and duller than I expected (but this could be my monitor's fault), so after careful testing, I overdyed it. I now have a gorgeous deep raspberry shawl which I love. The texture of the yarn is slightly "crispy" due to the silk content, slightly nubbly, very pleasant (and quick!) to knit. And good value.

Worked up fast using another yarn with the XL. Scarf was heavy, not fluid {my fault}.But all in all my daughter loved the scarf and real pearl brooch combo.
Service was much faster this time.

So far, not finished yet, the sweater is crisper than I thought, feels more like cotton than wool and silk. Cant wait to wash it and see the true feel.
