Comments about Cascade Yarns Fixation Closeout:

It seems small but goes a long way. I absolutely love the stretchiness. I've been using it for arm bands, and can't find anything else that even comes close. And it disguises errors very nicely - no "ladders" in my knitting! I will definitely be buying more.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Fixation Closeout:

This is really no yarn for knitting socks. The material is to ruff, stretches a lot and is knotted together over and over. I think I counted about 10 knots in one sock. Unfortunately I have 4 more balls , which I have to find something else to do with.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Fixation Closeout:

I had a LOT of trouble when I finally tried to knit socks about 8 years ago. I was a relatively experienced knitter, but just couldn't seem to get it together when it came to socks. THEN my LYS in Virginia suggested Cascade Fixation. WOW , socks became easy !! My only problem is that we moved to Arizona, after retirement, and I can't get it at my LYS. Thank goodness for my stash and mail order!!!!! I can NOT imagine what the person who gave this yarn only one star did to cause all of those problems. As long as you hold it firmly, as you would have any yarn around your hand to insure an even tension, it knits beautifully. I have 4 pair knitted, and 3 pair in various stages. Please do listen to the advice about the dryer. I cannot trust myself to get them out after drying part way, then air drying, so I hang them to dry. LOVE LOVE LOVE this SOCK yarn.

Happy accident! As a novice crocheter I purchased this yarn for an afgan not realizing with the stretch the yarn was for socks. Well my afgan is beautiful and delicate looking. It's small (3x3') and took 14 balls but so worth it.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Fixation Closeout:

I made socks from my Fixation yarn. It knits up into a cushy sock, very pleasant on the feet. The yarn is machine washable but caution should be used. Because it is mostly cotton, it will shrink in the dryer. I recommend making the socks about 1" longer than your foot. I also recommend drying them a bit in the dryer (15 minutes) but air drying them the remainder of the time so they don't shrink. The socks take a long time to dry as they knit up so thick. My socks take about 2 days to dry hanging over a rod, but they are worth it.

Color good but yarn is not appropriate weight for socks. Elastic included makes the texture odd. Have not bothered to use it. Gives me the creeps.

I bought this yarn as I had a simple anklet pattern I got at my LYS I wanted to try out (my first attempt at socks also!) & it did take a bit to get used to knitting with this stretchy yarn but now that I know the feel of it, I really like working with it. Maybe I will try a simple hat also but for now I'm stuck on socks which I love to do!!! I can get an adult size sock ( I wear sz 9 shoe) out of 1 ball. Not bad for the price!

I use fixation yarns for making baby hats. I love that the yarn has a nice stretch to it yet is easy to knit with. The baby/child receiving the hat will be able to wear it for a very long time.
