I purchased this yarn to knit scarves to sell. I strongly recommend this yarn over brands that make similar yarns (ex - Katia Sole). Although this yarn does pick easier than other ruffle yarns, it does not pick nearly as easily as other brands. I have knit several scarves using this yarn and have not run in to any manufacturing defects.
