I made a wide and long cowl and this yarn. The cowl is super soft and drapes beautifully. It wraps twice and it isn't at all bulky. Perfect.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco Alpaca:
This is really a beautiful yarn. It's exquisitely soft and luxurious, knits up well, and is perfect for pretty much ANYthing. The only criticism I could give is that it sheds a bit if you have to rip back. But honestly, what animal fiber doesn't?

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco Alpaca:
I've tried this yarn in different colors and the black/gray color seems lighter in weight (thinner) than the solid brown. All colors seem a bit thinner than other yarns that are 110 yd per 50 gram.
Still lovely and soft and I will buy again. Would like to see a solid black, too.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco Alpaca:
This yarn is so pretty, soft, lightweight but quite warm, and very forgiving (read: I've ripped back probably 50 yards in one go without a snag). The colors are great for openwork patterns--subtle, but still add some dimension. I actually purchased this batch as a gift for a novice crocheter, because it's so easy to work with, but she isn't sure she can stop petting it long enough to crochet.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco Alpaca:
One of my go-to yarns when I'm trying to focus on softness over strength for a gift. Got quickly knit into a heavy cowl for my sister-in-law, and it works up the same that it always does - good in what I call the workhorse stitch patterns (ribbing, moss, light lace) and needing a little babying to keep from unraveling. Still the softest thing in the world, though, and always exactly what I need when I reach for it.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco Alpaca:
I ordered this for a neckwarmer for my brother as he loves super soft things. Couldn't be happier with the softness, the color, the silkiness, everything except the weight. It's really a DK, had to double strand to get worsted/aran-ish weight. It's a very dense, heavy knit as a result, not light and fluffy, but it's for cold weather and will be super warm! Have a tiny bit left, maybe I'll get some super soft handwarmers!
