Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox Discontinued Colors:
I used this yarn to make a lace scarf, and it came out beautifully. The colors were gorgeous and the yarn was so soft to work with. My only complaint is that the yarn ply is loose so occasionally my needle would poke through the yarn rather than through the holes. Considering the softness of the yarn, I think this would be best for accessories rather than garments.

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox Discontinued Colors:
I bought this because of the great price at WEBS and also the colors...plus I love Alpaca! I used this yarn for two simple triangular shawls. The gorgeous colors are really on display! The yarn is Very soft..lovely to work with! I found no knots...no damaged spots...just a soft, beautiful yarn. It is loosely spun, I had to pay attention to avoid splits..but it was not a big issue. I used a 6 needle to get a lacey look and the result looks Much more sophisticated than a garter shawl! This yarn is a joy to work with!

Comments about Classic Elite Yarns Alpaca Sox Discontinued Colors:
The three stars = "average, ordinary" for me means that while this yarn is beautiful, it won't meet the needs I have for socks that stand up to how we live here in the land of giant ferns and banana slugs. I started a pair of socks with this yarn. First I had to keep shrinking my hook from the usual B to steel 1, then 2, then 3. This wasn't easy, as the finish of the yarn is rather fuzzy. As the stitches emerged, I realized there's no way this fabric would hold up to the rigors of Alpine boots or hiking sandals slogging through mud and water. I found it way too thin, and the two plys seemed constantly wanting a divorce from each other. So I frogged out the footie and have plans to carry two strands of the yarn for a more decorative garment. It's really pretty stuff.
