This yarn knits up into a lovely fabric, stiches are nice and even and fabric drapes well but does not loose it shape. However I couldn't get guage on size or 4 knitting needles. On 4's I got a scant 21st to 4 inches. If I used smaller needles the fabric would have been too stiff. I'm not crazy about the color I chose but I still think it's a nice yean and a steal for the sale price. If it was returnable I would have re-ordered in another color because I still I like the fabric at 5st per inch on size 5 needles. I purchased the color Circus. Wish I would have gotten Starfish. I love earthier tones but was trying to get out of my comfort zone.

Even though I called WEBS with some color questions, I am really disappointed in the colors. I was going to use Hay and Denim to make a summer baby vest. When I got them, the Hay had a yellow cast when I wanted a real khaki/beige. The Denim has a very purple strand in the mix and looked terrible with the Hay, so I had to run out and buy some dark blue cotton for the vest (Louisa Harding Jesse). The yarn is nice, though not as soft as other cotton I've used. And of course, it's a little splitty.

        Comments about Louisa Harding Ondine:

Love the way the variegated yarn knits up as a tweed! Need to take care and use blunter tip needles as the yarn is fairly loosely spun. Reel can come undone about halfway through so can be a bit of a nuisance. Looking forward to wearing it as a summer sweater. Used Kirsten Hipsky? midnight starry sky pattern and did stockinette rather than garter stitch.

                Comments about Louisa Harding Ondine:

I am knitting a summer sweater with this yarn. The color is gorgeous (Sail) an exquisite ocean-y mix of blues and lavenders. And the yarn is smooth and lovely to knit with. It seems to give more than many cottons do. My only gripe (and it's small) is that you have to be careful not to accidentally split the plys. In other words, this isn't yarn for knitting in a movie theatre. Other than that, I highly recommend it. I would definitely knit with this again.

I love this yarn. It knits up beautifully, it's very soft for a cotton. I intend to purchase more. I made a hoodie with the color 'sail'. Very pleased with the finished product.

This is one of my favorite cotton yarns. Living in Texas, you need cotton during the summer. This yarn fits the bill. Ondine made up in a beautiful willow lace pattern scarf. It can unravel if you handle it too much, but still goes right back into shape.
                        Highly recommend this beautiful yarn.
